Meet Ahmed Best: The Guy Who Played The Most Hated Character Of The ‘Star Wars’ Franchise (Video)
Admission: Always hated Jar Jar Binks as a character in the Star Wars reboots (but @ojones1 said he wasn’t so bad… get him y’all… GET HIM! hahaaaaa!). That said, you kind of feel sorry for the guy who played him, Ahmed Best. That is, you will (most likely) when you watch this clip.
In Episode III of These Are The Actors You’re Looking For; Ahmed Best AKA Jar Jar Binks talks Michael Jackson, the backlash and why he would never return to the Star Wars franchise. He also performs his former co-star Liam Neeson’s famous ‘Taken’ monologue, in the style of Jar Jar!
Um… but see how he is still trying to take bullets for creator George Lucas… saying the kids who first watched “The Phantom Menace” had no problem with it. *Sigh* Hollywood…
(Watch the Liam Neeson a la Jar Jar voice flip by Best at the end.)
David Bowie And The Story Of Ziggy Stardust (Documentary)
Man. Rest In Power to rock legend David Robert Jones pka David Bowie. We are going to be sad for a bit, knowing that the guy who brought such surreal music and mania to the music world since the 1970s will no longer be here with us.
But his music (and film) work…they will live forever here on this plane with us. Speaking of films, check out this documentary from BBC; detailing the early times of David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust.
Quentin Tarantino Loves Violence In Cinema (Video)
You probably look at a Taratino classic like “Reservoir Dogs” (or his coming flick “Hateful 8”) and think: Wow, this is over-the-top violent! But hey, Tarantino isn’t really about all of that blood and gore for really real.
No…yeah… He is. No apologies or eff’s given about what any hater thinks about it either. ‘Tino is all about VIOLENCE. Watch above and prepare to go ‘whoa!’
(Good point about Japan’s ultra-violent cinema in its most peaceful society; one NOT equating to the other.)

Spike Lee Speaks On The Basis Of His New Film ‘Chi-Raq’ & Elaborates on Chicago, Sex Strikes (Video)
Interesting. Spike Lee and Stephen Colbert discuss the dire straits of Chicago’s war-like violence and casualty rates, the foundations/inspirations for “Chi-Raq” (a spin off the Ancient Greek satire “Lysistrata,” in which Athenian women vow to withhold sex until their men end the The Peloponnesian War), and the possibility of sex strikes on campus in the coming semester after his movie drops.
“I think that a sex strike could really work on college campuses where there’s an abundance of sexual harassment and date rapes. Second semester it’s going to happen. Once people come back from Christmas, there’s going to be sex strikes at universities and college campuses across this country. I believe it.â€
– Spike Lee

Yooo… if you are a spitter, you will WANT this beat for yourself!! Ha! You slept! Tragedy is already jumping the track. WOOOOOOO!
For this installment of Rhythm Roulette, we connected with Extra P, aka Large Professor. We took the legendary Queens producer to Human Head Records in Brooklyn, where he picked three random records to begin a game of Rhythm Roulette. He ended up grabbing an Instant Funk record, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes’ Black and Blue album, and Shirley Scott’s On A Clear Day. From there, Extra P began to go through the records and create some new heat from what he picked.
Shout out to Tragedy Khadafi for the cameo.
