The Lost Streets Of Chicago (Documentary)
The caution on language for this BBC documentary. If that is what folks fret most about this video, then maybe they should not watch. Just saying, if harsh words make you cringe, you cannot possibly take an expose of the harsh reality Chicagoans face. Worse, if you are MORE affected by the language than the subject matter, you fail as a human.
Know what. Watch either way. We must do better. But first, we must not shy away. Otherwise, our great city will be lost.
Killings in Chicago have hit a 20-year high as the grim toll for homicides passes 500. The BBC’s Ian Pannell and Darren Conway explore a world where gangs and guns rule.

Eye Candy: Sisters In Formation (Video)
So, I was gonna start this post with one of two statements: (1) “Aha! Bet you came here looking for some Beyonce’ & Solange type hotness” or (2) “Now, THESE sistas could feature at any halftime and make the wackest ball game a SUPER bowl event!”
(What’cha think? It’s the 2nd one right? And I’d follow with something like…)
Yes indeed! These sexy steppers’ halftime would be SHOWTIME for sure. And if they were in the parade before the game, I would be UP early that morning! Look at them sashaying down the street; bringing that HEAT! Beautiful. I used to look forward to parade folks tossing candy from the floats. But THESE Honeyz ARE the candy… and just like when I was a young knucklehead, I still feel like hollering, “Hey! Hey Ladies! Over here! THROW SOME OVER HERE! We need to treats over here!”
(Yeah, the second opening works much better. Shout to the Knowles sisters though. Enjoy the video!)

CyHi The Prynce – “Legend†(Video)
“For Legend, I wanted to give the fans a strong performance video to show people where I’m from, my hometown Decatur/Stone Mountain, GA.”
Mission accomplished, CyHi The Prynce! Of course, the single was already dope enough to demand a video worthy of “Legend”… but with work out like what CyHi did over on Sway’s show, whatever else HAD to be dope, too! This vid did kid.
Kendrick Lamar – “The Heart” (Part 4)
So, K. Dot decided that now was the time to set fire to Hip-Hop with a rhyme! And this “The Heart” (Part 4) is fiery to be sure (iTunes-linked below). Listening makes you wonder if those shots, jabs and hooks were aimed at specific people or just sucka archetypes. Break it down and let it be broke, Kendrick. Name names!
(The beat changeups though!)
Introducing Boston Dynamics’ Handle: A Super-Powered Research Robot (Video)
Maaan, they keep making these robots better, stronger, faster, more flexible and agile and… you get the picture. But maybe these bot makers don’t ‘get the picture’ – the Skynet-Schwarznegger-Terminator, science-NONfiction horror picture. Then again, Boston Dynamics CEO Marc Raibert has been quoted as saying, “This is the debut presentation of what I think will be a nightmare-inducing robot.†So, maybe they do get it.
Handle is a research robot that stands 6.5 ft tall, travels at 9 mph and jumps 4 feet vertically. It uses electric power to operate both electric and hydraulic actuators, with a range of about 15 miles on one battery charge. Handle uses many of the same dynamics, balance and mobile manipulation principles found in the quadruped and biped robots we build, but with only about 10 actuated joints, it is significantly less complex. Wheels are efficient on flat surfaces while legs can go almost anywhere: by combining wheels and legs Handle can have the best of both worlds.
– Boston Dynamics
Oh… Handle is a research bot. Because all kinds of researchers need a 6.5-foot tall jumper with a four foot vertical (right, all kinds of NBA researchers). Oooo–kaaay. They must think we fell off the back of the turnip truck and it backed over our heads right after that!
(Not saying it’s not cool tech though.)
Eye Candy: Mercedes Morr (Video)
Guaranteed: 30 seconds into this and you’ll be DONE! Or is it just me? Watch and see. By the way, I’m cool with it being just me. Ought to know by now that I post the Honeyz MY eyes love feasting on. I’m bringing these lovely lunchables at the nooner hour to satisfy my ‘munchies’ for Eye Candy.
However, I am willing to share, as always.
But back to Mercedes Morr and that BACK she’s packing. O. M. Googley GOO! All black, but barely there. Where is that beach in the first video, and when are we going back, Mercedes.

J’ouvert: Brooklyn’s Dirty Masquerade (Documentary)
Yup. You probably know Carnival. You MIGHT know J’ouvert. Whether you do or don’t, here comes a VICE documentary on it… meaning we are about to get deep enough in depth about it so all who watch are in the know. Was kind of hoping the Carnival newbie Wilbert L. Cooper was gonna get a ‘real’ demonstration from Kat (or one of the other sistas) at the barber shop *wink*
J’ouvert is a wild, pre-dawn street masquerade that marks the beginning of Caribbean Carnival. It’s a tradition that represents rebellion and freedom from slavery for West Indian communities around the world. New York City’s J’ouvert is one of the most famous, bringing out more than 250,000 revelers every year who party through the night dressed in elaborate costumes or smothered in paint and powder.
While J’ouvert is a cultural cornerstone for the city, it’s become a subject of controversy. Over the past decade, more than 20 people have been shot and killed in and around the festival, leading many to associate the event with violence.

Kimeko Farrar – “Woman I Am” (Video)
Yes sir, and yes ma’am! I have been watching the moves of Kimeko Farrar from afar (because, hello… so smouldery smoking HOTT!), and have been impressed how she comes across as “all this and brains, too” time and time again. I have purchased and read her poetry, but this treasure I saw on my Facebook feed is EVERYTHING! ‘Phenomenal Woman’ level stuff! Press play above and see for yourself. Poetry beautifully brought to life on your screen.
Woman I Am is the title track from Kimeko’s debut spoken word album, Woman I Am. Woman I Am is a tribute to women. It acknowledges the beauty and strength of all women. The visual is all about fashion, fierceness and fun.
Below, after the jump, you can learn about and see more of Kimeko. Enjoy!

Study Shows That People Think Black Men Are Scary (Video)
This is crazy. But then you realize that SOMETHING has been serving to ‘justify’ the frequent escalation to violence and murder against Black men (by radical racists, out of control cops, even Black assailants). Maybe research studies, leading to thoughtful discussion, can start us down the path to treating Black Lives like the really Matter.
A study found that both White and Black people often view Black men as older, bigger, and stronger than they actually are. Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola, and Jordan Chariton, the hosts of The Young Turks, tell you why.

New York Graffiti Experience (Documentary)
What do you know about that old school Hip-Hop cinema maaaan? Have you seen “Wildstyle” yet? If so, congratulations. But that was ’83. And we mean old school – before the 1980s. How about this mini-documentary that came out in 1976, the “New York Graffiti Experience” above? #Graffiti #HipHop #Elements
Enjoy. You’re welcome!
Samuel L. Jackson Speaks On “Kong,” Black People In Film & TV, President Trump And More (Video)
Samuel L. Jackson talks about President Trump, racism in America, Hollywood’s casting of British Black actors in ‘American’ roles, “Kong: Skull Island,” and more. See? Waaaay more than just the 2 controversial minutes here or there the gossip sites are gushing about.
(Google that sh!t if you like. We don’t do that here.)
But something else of note: Jackson, in response to Ebro’s lead-in, touches on the historical racist undertones in all the “King Kong” movies (like we did on here). Yeah. Talk more about that mainstream.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos Pilots The ‘Method-2’ Mech (Video)
South Korean robotics manufacturer Hankook Mirae Technology debuted its first prototype piloted mech, the Method-2.
Remember that sci-fi-come-to-life robot we posted on here a while back? Well, Jeff Bezos took it for a ride a few days back. And that’s big; as big as the movie monster bot (another demo reel of it above).
Pause: Who’s Jeff Bezos??? Oh, he runs Amazon. That all… BOOM! Like we said, BIG!
Building a movie bot is a project success. Getting rich folks excited about it? The business! Although military contracts would surely be expected to follow, Slate did some digging that revealed that they – maker Hankook Mirae Technology – ain’t ready yet (more here). Disaster relief and cleanup – that seems to be the ceiling for these mega man-driven machines. Not as sexy as a ‘War Machine’ (Marvel), but no small feat. And after the storm, when the help comes, best believe these will be welcomed like some of the hottest things walking!
I just got to pilot an awesome (and huge) robot thanks to Hankook Mirae Technology. Nice! #MARS2017 pic.twitter.com/MvN6ghEYFi

Eye Candy: Kreesha Turner (Video)
Hang in for a bit on this one. Kreesha Turner is hella cute from the jump, no doubt. And the music is standard fare for Instagram Girls’ vids. However, I will admit it takes a bit for this compilation edition to warm up. They took it took it to the slow cooker for this, and the result: Delicious!
But two things: that BUTT and those STILLS! She has an obvious dancer’s physique with a PERFECT onion that’ll bring tears to your eyes. And her photos strewn throughout this presentation make that onion bloom #BloominOnion #FeastYourEyes
Got the perfect theme for that Instagram, too. ‘She is SOOOO pretty’ (because she is) #EyesThatMesmerize

Excuse you please. It is Dr. Aldrin. Respect! Credited with being on the first team to set foot on the moon, now Buzz Aldrin has set his sights further… as in Destination: Mars.
