A Real-Life ‘Autobot’ (Video)
Yeah, yeah. Call us nerds or geeks or whatever, but this sh!t is cool as… as… Transformers in REAL LIFE! Nothing cooler than that. This is sci-fi tech gone wild in the best way.
Now, not saying this beats our battle robot stories BUT it’s dope nonetheless. A long way from those ‘pop up’ transforming funny cars at the tractor pulls at the Georgia Dome way, way back in the day. No shots. Just saying…

Bill Simmons Welcomes Guests Nas And Kevin Durant To “Any Given Wednesday” (Video)
Hmm… If you are not up on your “Any Given Wednesday” (hosted by Bill Simmons on HBO) watching, now’s as goo a time as any to catch up. Discussion goes in on everything from tatts to the best b-baller to rap to perhaps a budding “rap-like” beef between guest Kevin Durant and former teammate Russell Westbrook. And you know guest Nas can weigh in on much of that.
And both guests agree… Every basketball player wants to be a rapper. And every rapper wants to be a basketball player. Bill’s got both on here. Great show! Start with the clip above and continue after the jump below.
A Party Yacht With Its Own Private Beach… On Board! (Video)
This shizz iz craZy! Know how they say don’t bring sand to the beach – like not bringing a date because it will ruin your hump-around chances? Well, imagine bringing this monster baller boat around… where you are not bringing sand to the beach… you are bringing a yacht near shore… and the yacht has its own damn beach! WHAT!
(All good until Jaws comes through to ‘belly up to the beach’ for some human hors d’oeuvres. Hahaaaa! Just listen for the horror scene music and you’ll be a’ight… you tough, right?)
Fist Fight (Trailer)
You know, Ice Cube does really well on films in which he stars opposite an actor who can deliver high-energy foolery – Chris Tucker, Mike Epps, Kevin Hart… you get it. And now Charlie Day, seemingly a bit subdued in the trailer. But bet on some of that “Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” “Pacific Rim,” “Bad Bosses” crazy coming through his character as he is forced to face down Ice Cube’s character. Yeah. You read right. How else would they get to the point of a “Fist Fight.”
Ice Cube and Charlie Day star as high school teachers prepared to solve their differences the hard way in the comedy “Fist Fight,†directed by Richie Keen (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphiaâ€) – in theaters February 17!
On the last day of the year, mild-mannered high school English teacher Andy Campbell (Day) is trying his best to keep it together amidst senior pranks, a dysfunctional administration and budget cuts that put jobs on the line. But things go from bad to worse when he accidentally crosses his much tougher and deeply feared colleague, Ron Strickland (Cube), who challenges Campbell to an old-fashioned throw down after school. News of the fight spreads like wildfire and ends up becoming the very thing this school, and Campbell, needed.
Oh damn, Tracy Morgan’s in this! Definitely on the Ice Cube crazy co-star list, too. See you after school in the parking lot, punk. Hahaaa!
Rhythm Roulette With Jake One (Video)
Jakey Uno with the homemade blind-picked beat batch of the day we have come to know and love as Rhythm Roulette. Going in with some Gospel this go-round, too. Alright now. Prepare for this praiseworthy episode.
Very few artists can traverse the constantly shifting borders between the underground and the mainstream like Jake One. The Seattle producer is respected, and rightfully so, in both worlds for his work with 50 Cent and G-Unit, De La Soul, E-40, DOOM, and more. He’s also worked on complete projects with Freeway and Brother Ali. Then with Mayer Hawthorne, he put out a feel-good album under the Tuxedo moniker. Basically, his production credits weigh a ton.
From Spin Cycle to his studio in Washington, Jake lucks out with The Best of Herbie Hancock, The Manhattans’ Forever By Your Side, and a Reverend E. Stanley Branch record. Jake One’s sampling methods kick in immediately as he skips around the records, finding a “Yeah!” from Rev. Branch and some drums from The Manhattans. He hears something worth taking from the choir on Rev. Branch’s record then drums from Herbie. The Manhattans also helped provide a snare. As the beat comes together all on his keyboard, he goes back to the choir to find some shouting to fill out the beat. Jake tinkers around with a bass line and before you know it, he’s sequenced a beat fit for the church and the club.
Another dope session. Amen!
“Between Two Ferns” With Zach Galifianakis: Hillary Clinton (Video)
The ‘first girl president’… Zach Galifianakis is MENTAL! But he had a point: Hillary Clinton would be the first White U.S. president millions of kids have known. Aaaaand that’s the balance of the ‘good points’ in this clip. Uncomfortably funny as you would expect an ep of “Between Two Ferns” to be. You gotta watch.
(And hey, Barack Obama appeared on the show, so Hillary likely felt like, “I gotta do this.” Baaahahaaa!)

Common – “Black America Again” feat. Stevie Wonder (Prod. Karriem Riggins x Robert Glasper) [Video]
Music video for “Black America Again” – the title track of Common’s album. Produced by Karriem Riggins and Robert Glasper. Featuring Stevie Wonder. With Esperanza Spalding on bass. With Scratches by J Rock. With Patrick Warren on strings. With ad libs by Chuck D and MC Lyte.
With the most unpalatable dose of truths delivered in a Hip-Hop suspension. Damn. Just as the start of the video forces us to relive the killing of Alton Sterling and opens the wound, Common drops in a cauterizing truth… that we have to stop killing each other, too. THEN through more lyricism, audio samples from Black noteworthies, and that driving beat, Common continues the uncomfortable conversation and intervention.
Moving. Powerful. Like Hip-Hop is supposed to be. A Golden Era vet utilizing rap as the voice of the culture it was meant to be. Here’s the emotional lineup: You will start with your eyes on the screen, then they will water, you’ll raise a hand to wipe them away, ball it into a fist as the hand lowers, nod in agreement with the music AND message, then RAISE YOUR FIST at the end.

Roland Martin Chastises Bill O’Reilly For Not Respecting Colin Kaepernick’s Protest (Video)
Uh oh. Colin, you can drop back for a second and let brother Roland put the blitz on Billy [Bob] O’Reilly. Sacked him!! When Roland goes, “So, Bill, DAMN your book,” you KNOW the ‘turn up’ turned the corner!
“Bill, what books are you reading?”
Roland Martin gave Bill O’Reilly a history lesson on patriotism and African Americans.
O’Reilly wants Colin Kaepernick to read his book about patriotism, but Martin, host of NewsOne Now says O’Reilly has it all wrong and offered a series of tiles that O’Reilly should read instead.
