Billionaire ‘Shark Tank’ Investor Mark Cuban Takes A Hard Look At President Trump’s First Days (Video)
I will admit: It will be hard for me to balance the passion and political savvy it takes to show love for my country. You have to be involved with something, passionately involved, to really show that you are in LOVE with it, right? Okay, then. I love this country. I show it with passion, warts and all. I did so at the ballot box last year, and things did not go my way. I felt the Bern and got burnt. Pulled for Hillary, but got Trumped.
Bitter, sure. Beaten, no. I’m an American. Even when we take an L we don’t take defeat. So, where are we now? In the first weeks of Donald Trump’s Presidency. Lots of folks are speaking up. Passionately. And we have to talk. It just can’t all be hate and futility. That is, in part, why I had to ‘re-title’ the YouTube video above. In it, Dallas Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban says WAY more than ‘Trump set the bar low.’ There is actually some thought mixed into the rant. Take a listen.
We will not agree on everything, on that we can agree. But here is something on which we must agree: I will listen to you, and you to me. Most of all, to you who did NOT vote…I am listening.
(If we are really honest, that might be what got us to this point in history. So, let’s listen. Starting with this fiery Cuban commentary.)

Chrisette Michele Explains Why She Performed At Trump’s Inauguration (Video)
Honestly I’m not tripping over Chrisette Michele performing for Trump either way. I’m indifferent. I’m also indifferent on Spike Lee’s move

Event: Coalition DJs 9th Anniversary Celebration & Panel Discussion (Video)
Wow.
I would say, if you you were not at Atlanta’s Coalition DJs Anniversary Celebration and Longevity Panel event, you missed something special.
I would say that.
I might even go so far as to say that you took a major L this past Monday if you missed it. However, lucky for you, you know me. Even luckier for me, I am truly blessed to know, and be able to call in a favor from, Gerald Olivari of Black Vibes! Yep, G.O. went to the event and grabbed a lot of crucial footage: wisdom from the hearts and mouths of music industry insiders and grinders who have been at it for decades (some over 30 years). So, give thanks, because you are lucky not to have missed out out dopeness like this!
Start with Part 1 above, and absorb the knowledge that flowed with real (and raw, uncensored) conversation from the panelists assembled. On hand was DJ Toomp, KP, and more who have made hits (and money) with the likes of Dallas Austin, TI, Yelawolf, OutKast, Diddy… whew! And the gems they dropped, like:
Understand business… not just ‘the business’… first. This lesson even applies when you are cutting grass for a living: If you want to get paid, for real, DO THE WORK, for real!
If you want to excel as those you admire do, get around them and work like they do.
If you find yourself blessed with the opportunity to be around greatness, shut up and listen!
INFORMATION… that is a key to LONGEVITY.
Relationships go a LONG way!
Wise words well spoken…. applicable to music making AND to life in general! And that was just in the first half of the first part (above). You can keep going and growing with Part 2 after the jump. Got some Red Carpet pics for y’all, too. Shout out to Iman Lexington and public relations guru Amy Hanks (follow @AmyHanksPR) for putting us on to this opportunity as well. Just as you will learn from watching, real DJs and folks like Gerald (with his Black Vibes platform), I.Lex (with her connections and @ILexProject music & media consultancy), and my bro JayForce here just REALLY want artists they encounter to be good – for the culture and for themselves. So, watch this FREEbie intently; especially you artists and managers out there. Keep perfecting your craft and bettering your businesses.
This should help. Good luck!

‘Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo’ Documentary Covers His Rise From Prison To Hollywood
The video above is not the trailer for actor Danny Trejo’s upcoming documentary, but its interesting to provide you all an appetizer for the upcoming documentary ‘Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo’. There was another documentary on Danny Trejo called “Champion” that we posted the trailer to after the jump.
“The big screen tough guy is currently in production on Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo, a documentary that will chronicle his life and career — from his early days on the streets that led him to prison, to getting clean and working with directors like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez and appearing in films such as Heat, Con Air and Machete.
Today, Danny Trejo is temperate, benevolent and likely one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. But he wasn’t always this wayâ€, says producer Adam Scorgie in a statement. “Growing up in the mean streets of Pacoima, California, he was raised and mentored by his uncle, a drug addict and armed robber. By the age of 12, he had tried heroin. By age 15, he was introduced to his first jail cell. At 23, he was sentenced to San Quentin for selling a $30,000 bag of heroin to an undercover agent.”
Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo is expected to be released in 2018.

Stevie being the genius that gave us “Superstition” is enough. But seeing him do it live… Okay, that’s incredible; and enough, to be certain. But what will make your Sunday and New Year wonderful is that Stevie Wonder rocked ‘Sesame Street’ live with that joint!
It was like a funk & soul clinic for the kids: Talk about a Children’s Television Workshop!

Talib Kweli Insists That Seasoned Artists Can Learn From Lil Yachty & 21 Savage (Video)
Talib Kweli tells Vlad that Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Ugly God and the other young’uns in the rap game have something to teach the rap vets. No, helllll nooo; not about putting out good music. Rather, they know how to get a buzz that gets heat for an artist without paying playing the radio game. And that game has gotten even more expensive and more ‘in the shadows’ nowadays.
F*ck radio…don’t need no radio… [and] F*CK Gene Simmons!

A true story. The words of Norman Brown, read by Pusha T. Powerful testimony on what a second chance can mean to a person and to society. A quick watch, but a good one!
Wow, 20+ years… on the way to much more in the pen… But freedom granted by President Obama gave the brother a chance to write a new ending to the book of his life. Maybe he can help others with their ‘rewrites’ too.

Talib Kweli Speaks On His Times Meeting President Obama, Relationships With Other Artists And Much More (Video)
Tell the truth, we ‘never thought that Hip-Hop would take it this far’…
According to Talib Kweli (above), President Obama got his favorite artists together in a room to share ideas on and declare his desire for criminal justice reform to be part of his administration’s legacy… and ask for their inputs & help. Talk about a work-play moment! Imagine a concert featuring Talib, A$AP Rocky, J. Cole, Busta Rhymes, Pusha T and others? Why not? It’s the White House! But nah, country first. Still sounds like a cool meet-up.
(The story about his Grandma though… wow!)

Eye Candy: Chrissy Teigen (Video)
Ha haaa! Gotta love the way Chrissy Teigen is fine with her fineness. Not really uppity about it; in fact, her funniness & finesse are key to her sexiness. Feel like (were it not for the in love with hubby John Legend thing) she’d be very approachable. And the way she is demonstrating dedication to fitness (and footlong hotdogs with fries) in this bouncy bounce back to pre-baby weight ‘workout’ video; patterned after the old school 20 Minute Workout and Kiana’s Flex Appeal (yeeeeaahh, click those titles for throwback links; and you’re welcome) …wow!
Love this. Reeeally loving Chrissy in this! Hit the jump for some choice freeze frames from this workout, too.

Three-point shoot-out between two Atlanta icons makes for one hell of a vid! Highly entertaining, and we got it cued up for you above. The Human Highlight Reel is nice shooting that pill …still! Wonder if 2 Chainz could talk him into stepping into the booth, though? He did ask about performing as part of the bet. Hmmm. NBA Ballers do be trying to rap. Hahaaa!
(The 2 Chainz rant about possible Russian involvement, too. A must see! Oh, and 2 Chainz is rocking the home crowd at Philips Arena on December 30, 2016. Ought to be a great event all-around.)
Go In-Depth With ‘Common’ and ‘Serena Williams’ On ESPN’s “The Undefeated” (Video)

Much better imagery in your mind now, of course.

To get into the holiday spirit 2 Chainz and his jeweler, Joe Avianne of Avianne & Co, designed and created the Most Expensivest ugly Christmas sweater ever. The sweater was auctioned off by 2 Chainz, and the proceeds were given to the TRU Foundation.
Spoiler alert: The sweater… NOT that ugly.
General Steele Speaks On Meeting Phife Dawg’s Mom, “Building Bridges” And More (Video)
Lots of artists, Indie or major, would feel some kind of way if a strong LP (one capable of sapping sales) was to drop the same day theirs did. However, General Steele is not like many artists. His view of A Tribe Called Quest, in light of the competing release, is one of respect, near hero-worship. Dude is mingling, feeling the great energy on site, and bumping into Phife’s mom… without even realizing!
(Also spoke on Sean Price’s (RIP) contribution to “Building Bridges.” Hit the link below for the full story.
