Large Professor Compares Nas vs. Jay-Z Diss Tracks From Back In The Day (Video)

Nas was on his MONSTER back in the day! “Destroy And Rebuild” though… and you just thought “Ether” was mean… that’s just the version you heard! It could have been MUCH, MUCH worse.
In this clip, Large Professor reveals that the original instrumental for “Ether†was produced by Swizz Beatz, and that Nas ultimately censored the record before he decided to release it. From there, he recalls that some of the lyrics he took out had to do with Aaliyah’s plane crash, aimed at both JAY-Z and Dame Dash. Elsewhere, he also mentions that although he holds both records in high regard, he prefers JAY-Z’s “Takeover†on a musical level. With that said, he said he didn’t like “Super Ugly” at all, calling the record trash for its overwhelming disrespect towards Nas’ family.

Alright, so I am finally caught up on all my backlog of “Arrow” episodes (didn’t get into it until Season 3, shout to the homie SuperKing for recommending it). Thank you Netflix! Caught up on DC watching for now. But I have SOOOOO much Marvel binge watching – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, AND Iron Fist – to do before Marvel’s The Defenders comes out. Netflix, no chill!
Blind ninja. Smart-ass detective. Bulletproof ex-con. Kung Fu billionaire. Marvel’s The Defenders centers on four outsider heroes that have to put aside their personal issues and come together when a villainous sect threatens to destroy New York City as we know it. Justin Freeman showed up in my Facebook feed and destroyed my rap world. But that’s what I’d expect of a ‘future rapgod’ (his words, but I will cosign on the pedigree line).
I liked Justin’s page on Facebook, and followed on YouTube… immediately. And I’m still late. Mad at myself for sleeping on this brother. Taking from the movie “Taken” I gotta say to you, Justin:

In the 1920s, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover targeted Garvey for his political activity as a leader of the Pan-African movement. Garvey was convicted in 1923 on a charge of mail fraud and sentenced to five years in jail. His charges and conviction effectively ended Garvey’s political movement and eventually led to his deportation back to Jamaica. We speak to Marcus Garvey’s son, Dr. Julius Garvey, who is leading the Justice4Garvey effort.”

The art of stepping—choreographed stomping and clapping—has been practiced by historically Black fraternities and sororities for decades. It’s a performance of skill and precision. And every year at North Carolina A&T’s “Greatest Homecoming On Earth,†Greek organizations hit the stage to compete for a coveted title. The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma have won the step show 11 years in a row. This year, as pressure to maintain their legacy mounts, step master Byron Hannah tries to lead his brothers to another victory.

Definition Of A Down A** Chick: Miko Grimes (Video)

Full disclosure: I really did not know who Miko Grimes was. Not important. Her eventual husband did, and while we might infer that things weren’t always heavenly, hearing her talk about how she rides for him… man… intense! Might even say HOT. Something very ’90s Hip-Hop about this Gangsta Chick. Gotta admit that I like it. Even though I know she’s a handful.
Okay, two handfuls (wink). Do you SEEEEE that top? Fitting her where she’s so gifted. Wowzers!
Suffice it to say, Miko Grimes is the business. But she is well-informed and about her business, so you really gotta hope her man (husband, Brent Grimes, pro ball player) stays on point. Miko’s outspoken on some of everything: from the treatment of NFL players, shutting down groupies and hangers-on, and much more (as shown in the sit-down vid above).
Regarding career ups & downs for her former Falcon, then former Dolphin, hubby Brent, Miko gives her side of those goings down, too. Again I say WOW. Of course, I know Miko would absolutely DESTROY me (I’d fall too hard and stay down). But ohhhh, what a way to go!

How Can You Tell If Someone Is Lying? (Video)

Okay. This is FASCINATING! Being able to divine the truth, or at least determine when someone is lying is the stuff of great spy stories, war movies, epic action-dramas, even sci-fi/superhero blockbusters… Captain America and the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. could have certainly used a lot more of lie spotting early on in “The Winter Soldier” right?
(By the way, if you haven’t already, you reeeeally should check out the BEST MARVEL UNIVERSE FILM TO DATE – “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”)
Deception can destroy confidence. Pamela Myer, the author of “Liespotting: Proven Techniques to Detect Deception” and one of the most popular Ted Talks of all time, has made a career developing interview techniques and identifying verbal and non-verbal cues a person trying to lie to you might exhibit.
But let’s bring this skill back down to Earth. Consider how your parents (or you readers who are parents) utilize lie spotting day-to-day. How does a mom know when her child is lying about where she was this afternoon? How does pops already know about those scratches on the car door did NOT just ‘happen at the supermarket’? Or let’s get real-life: How can an investigator know if a person of interest is telling the truth or not… or how might a spy counter lie spotting techniques?
Or to get really real… How will you determine whether the candidates are answering truthfully during the U.S. Presidential Debate?

This is IT! Marvel has given Ryan Reynolds a couple of at-bats. Remember him as Hannibal King in Blade Trinity, and he has already played ‘Deadpool’ in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now, he gets to do “Deadpool” for real for real! And the trailer is looking damn dope.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
The funny jabs referring to ‘animated’ and ‘green suit’… Hilarious (and requires that we link that Green Lantern subpar DC movie he was slick-talking about). It’s okay, Ryan. This movie right here looks like it’s going to make up for that plus extra love. Stay Marvel, dude. Stay MARVEL!

Did you like that jawn Cavalier had with Raekwon off the “Chief” LP (we posted here)? Sure, you see the smoke in this “Watch And Learn” video (produced by KFB Productions), but play it again for the feel. The kid’s there, lounging with the grown folks fixing the greens, in the midst of the smoke; probably more nothing-wrong-with-the-herb commentary than shock attempt. No smoke ‘n mirrors either way; in your face. Credit director Ruby Flores for that mode of visual delivery.
