Vibe out with Dexter Brandon’s new track “Cause I (Talk to Me)” [Groove Beat]
I think we all have gotten that late night phone call from someone saying that they miss you and want to see you. Sometimes it’s a good thing other times it’s not but I think we now have something that can be the soundtrack to that experience. Producer and Kolossus Records founder Dexter Brandon composed some groovy sounds to vibe out to with a voicemail from a young lady making that late night call to a guy. So take a listen and who knows next time you get that phone call you might put this track on and see what happens.
She calls.
You don’t answer.
She cries.
You try not to think about it.
She calls.
You don’t answer.
She says she misses you.
You try not to think about it.
The day goes on.
Night fills the corners of the room.
She doesn’t call again.
You wonder if she’s okay.
You wonder if she truly misses you.
You heart drops to the words of her saying “I miss you…”
You try not to think about it.
Cause you ____ care.

Killer Mike Dishes On Dolezal With Larry Wilmore And Guests On ‘The Nightly Show’ (Video)
Killer Mike is hilarious! Still clever in this clip though. Joined across the table by comediennes Natasha Leggero and ‘The Nightly Show’ regular Robin Thede, the show discussion focused comedic fire on Rachel ‘I still consider myself Black’ Dolezal. Clever conversation with bite, but not vicious. Funny, but they do get to some cultural fine points brought up by the former NAACP official’s Blackishness making front page news. Don’t know if they really nailed down an answer to the “Does Rachel get a pass?” question… Then again, who says that was the point? Watch, enjoy, ponder a bit.
Great bonus footage after the jump.

Producers ‘Christian Rich’ Bring out Vince Staples during their DJ Set @ Mixmag Lab LA (Video)
When it comes to Chicago, Kanye is not the only producer out here making consistent heat.  Taiwo & Kehinde Hassan are Chicago born but of Nigerian descent who are blood brothers who make up the production duo Christian Rich.  If you are not familiar with the name sure you will know the siblings’ resume.  They have hits they created for Drake’s ‘Nothing Was The Same’, J.Coles ‘Born Sinner’, Childish Gambino’s ‘Because The Internet’ and Earl Sweatshirt’s ‘Doris’.  Recently they were invited to play a live set in LA for Mixmag Lab that consisted of Hip Hop, House, Dance and Electronic music during the mix.  During their set they brought out current XXL freshman and West Coast emcee Vince Staples who is making a lot of noise right now.  He performs on a new track that the duo produced with Vince rapping on it.

Dominican Baseball Players (Video)
Interesting. Major League Baseball-affiliated programming that emphasizes literacy and a high school education for players; whether they get to play at a high level or not.
Over the last few decades, the Dominican Republic has changed the face of American baseball by churning out talented players whose humble beginnings have helped cultivate a unique passion for the game. That passion is often due to dire circumstances that drive all focus to the diamond instead of the classroom. The result is thousands of young Dominican men sacrificing their education and formative years for a 2% chance of making it to the big leagues.
We sent Jaimie Sanchez to Boca Chica, a small, rural town that is home to the MLB’s training camps to visit Junior Noboa. Junior is the head of Latin American Affairs for the Arizona Diamondbacks and has helped develop a digital education program for their young players. We also see Boca Chica through the eyes of two players who were forced to adjust to life back home after their dreams of major league glory never became a reality.
– VICE SPORTS
So, with a program that insists on some level of education, the theory is that would be players would have something to fall back on; even if the fall from potential glory is a hard one. VICE SPORTS with yet another compelling story-behind-the-story.
MoSS – “Boombastic” feat. Slum Village
Canadian-born MoSS lets go of a single – the title track – in advance of his debut project “Boombastic” (featuring Slum Village). Won’t have to wait too, too long for the full plate. The “Boombastic” LP is due out September 2015. For now, ride with this “Boombastic” track though.
It’s Not A Game: ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Brought To Life! (Video)
This will make you go ooh, aahh, wow, and hahaaa… all over the same clip. Visual artists decided to take GTA off the game screen into the streets and make a ‘real life’ video action-drama out of it. Don’t look for plot twists or even punch lines. More like a drop kicks and punches in the eyes. Ha! Lots of gratuitous thieving and violence with gaming effects (e.g. knocking the cash out of dudes). Great clip above; with behind the scenes footage after the jump.

Akon Talks To Al Jazeera About His Art, Philanthropy And Impact On The World (Video)
Senegalese-American recording artist Akon comes onto Talk To Al Jazeera about U.S. race relations, “rebranding” Africa, and his music. Some poignant moments with punch in this interview, but it all comes from the right place. Perspectives from an African living in the U.S., who has drawn a conclusion that native born Americans of African descent have reached time and time again: “America was never built for Black people.”
Watch.

‘Stephen B. Smith’ Joins Mike & Mike In The Morning (Video)
Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Been said before. But a Stephen A. Smith commentary impression like this? Nah, we have NOT heard anything like this before. The ‘call in’ to ESPN’s Mike & Mike In The Morning was done by Frank Caliendo as ‘Stephen B. Smith.’
Icing on the cake… Stephen A. approves! Watch above – hilarious!
I LIKE him better than Stephen A.! @FrankCaliendo IS MY MAN!!! http://t.co/xu5x20OTku

R&B/Soul: Mélat – “Brand New Money” (Prod. By Robbie Anthem)
Folks doing good with the vocals are said to have rode, rocked, ripped, etc. a beat. Yeah, well, Mélat sorta did that to this; but it seems like she did something more to this Robbie Anthem-produced “Brand New Money” jawn. She was clutch on it. Scratch that… she body-clutched it, with full leg-and-thigh action, and ground it hard! Get it? Play it. You will. Apparently unattached music from Mélat while working on full-length project tracks.
Loosie from the Robbie “God Damn” Anthem spot!
Pat Van Dyke – “Two Sides” (DJ Spinna Remix)
Funny thing happened to Pat Van Dyke’s “Two Sides” on the way to the vault… DJ Spinna got hold of it. Reeeemix! Actually, it’s a laid-back redo with electronic keys peppered in. Nice.
