Capone-N-Noreaga Speak On ‘Lessons’, Meek Mill Vs. Drake, & Nore’s Upcoming ‘Foodie’ Show (Video)
I’m still winning. I have an 7th grade education, I’m dyslexic, and I’ve made millions of dollars. God bless America!
– Noreaga
Yup, AND Nore is finalizing talks with Lions Gate to do a Hip-Hop food & travel show. Winning most definitely! And anybody watching this Hot 97 Morning Show interview with CNN is winning, too. These dudes are always hilarious; especially Nore. The stories he tells (like ‘Tiger Bone’). The duo gets around to talking about their album “Lessons” (out now) and “U.M.A.R.” (yoUr Man’s All Real); and also comment on the Drake vs. Meek Mill beef.

Jill Scott is down with “Closure” sex (a la her LP “Woman”)! Make up to break up for that last cut up (that ‘thang’ as Jilly said in the interview). Great interview with Charlamagne Tha God & Angela Yee of The Breakfast Club. Evidence’s Truthful ‘Confessions’ (Video)
In this episode of Confessions, FACT fires questions at Evidence (of Dilated Peoples) and he gives the straight dope on ’em. Best two (to us): (1) that he is not mad, just high and (2) that he sleeps pretty f#cking good (likely because of the being high thing)!
Method Man Speaks On Wu-Tang, His ‘Twitter’ Methods, & How His New Film Is A ‘Trainwreck’ (Video)
Method Man stops by Power 105 NYC to discuss his career, the Wu-Tang Clan, and to promo his new movie “Trainwreck.” Reeeeally different promo than what co-star Amy Schumer is doing (no bed, no droids or sex toys).

Cover Story: Canadian Producer “Elaquent” Speaks On His New Album “Good Karma”
Plenty of good music is coming out of Canada right now. Â When you talk Hip Hop of course Drake is an obvious choice but also artists like Rich Kidd, Tona, making quality music. The producers are also making noise like Kaytranada, and today we speak with his HW&W label mate Elaquent who just released a new album titled “Good Karma”. Â It’s eleven original beat tracks that you can groove to. Â He exclusively spoke with Jayforce.com about his new project. Â Enjoy the track Far Away posted and click after the jump to read full interview.
- ArtByOdell:Â Congratulations on your new project Good Karma, how long were you working on the album?
- Elaquent:Â Much appreciated my man! Glad it’s out now. The bulk of the record I did in a 2 week, insomnia-filled period a few months back.
Take It Personal: Ghostface Killah Still Has Beef With Action Bronson (Video)
When ur wrong ur wrong and I was wrong. I apologized for the comments. I’ll always be a stand up human. Much love.
— MR. WONDERFUL (@ActionBronson) July 20, 2015
It has come to our attention that some of y’all may not be aware of the near-nuclear-launch tension between Action Bronson and Ghostface Killah. Here is what has come to pass, and why Ghostface put out the above visual getting in Bronson’s azz:
- Bronson goes on a show on ESPN, and near the end, kinda goes in on Ghost (see after the jump).
- Ghost hears about the shot Bronson took at him on TV, and the two talk it out via phone, AND Bronson apologizes via Twitter…AND deletes those Tweets (per the Ghost vid above).
- Ghost goes the f#ck off (the video above…daaayyyuuummmm)!
- Bronson apologizes on Twitter (and leaves the Tweet up, see below the video above).
This just in… Ghost does NOT accept Bronson’s apology. See?
NOW, in case you keep up with such things, you are up on things.
Big Sean Joins Stephen A. Smith & Skip Bayless On ESPN’s First Take (Video)
Yep, MTV (Music Television) isn’t really focused on dropping music videos anymore. No Yo! anymore. Heads watch a lot of ESPN. Shout and RIP to Stuart Scott, and Stephen A. Smith, for steering the network into the Hip-Hop sphere. So, now we are hosting rap stars and debuting vids on ESPN. Like in this First Take episode here: We get Big Sean with his video for “One Man Can Change The World,” promoting the album (“Dark Sky Paradise”)…and they get a good amount of sports talk in, too. Talking about his Detroit Lions, his fav b-baller Steph Curry and more.
The Legendary ‘Daddy-O’ Shares A Few Memories & Rare Stories About The Notorious Biggie Smalls (Video)
There is a reason I love to hear from the OG’s in the game and this interview with Daddy-O is a prime example of why. Â LiveHipHopDaily invited legendary Daddy-O (emcee, producer, Stetsasonic) to the studio and he shares some rarely heard stories about Biggie Smalls. Â I can’t remember watching a 3 minute interview packed with this many jewels and gems about the late great Biggie. Â First Daddy-O explains how they lived blocks away from each other and how Lance “Un” Rivera (producer) would tell him about Biggie & Jr. Mafia but Daddy-O explains they were just kids in the neighborhood at the time. Â He goes into the origin of Jr Mafia and how Big walked into a studio with no pen and paper but crafted timeless rhymes. Â He explains Biggie’s thought process when he played his verse for Player’s Anthem & Real Love remix both recorded at Daddy-O studio. Â Enjoy this gem of an interview and Pt.2 is after the jump!

Killer Mike On The Tavis Smiley Show (Video)

King Los Kills his Freestyle on Sway In the Morning (Video)
There was a time when if you were a rapper and you went on a Hip Hop Show guess what you did? Â You would actually go on there and Rap, Freestyle at worst kick a written verse just perform at least. Â This is not the case today it is not required or asked of to have artists get busy on the mic. Â Sway who hosts Sway in the Morning on Sirius radio keeps the tradition alive by having emcees do what he calls the 5 fingers of death. Â Where he changes up the beat and periodically throws out words that the emcee has to keep the freestyle going based off those words. Â He had King Los stop by and it’s safe to say that Los snapped during this segment. Â Successfully completing the 5 fingers of death and continuing to freestyle acapella for an additional two minutes on his own. Â This had Sway talking his talk about wack excess along with Heather B! Pick up King Los new album God, Money War out now on iTunes
Wack emcees stay home with your broke baby mother who can’t buy you a movie screen for your video games N@!*A – Heather B

The Future And Music Collectives (Video)
Very interesting. Music/culture collectives – already seen as go-tos for indie and underground (read: real) music and movements – could very well be controllers of the world of tomorrow. Time was, we went to other taste makers – deejays, radio, clubs, label imprints, print and video magazines – to learn what was new and worthy. Nowadays, largely enabled by Internet and mobile channels, we turn to curators who are independent themselves (e.g. not beholden to station management, programming consultants, the ‘charts’ or record/media manufacturers). Could it be that enough of us have turned away from old commercial channels that big name companies of all kinds who want to reach us reach out to Soulections and OKPlayers (and ehem JAYFORCEs) of the world? Real music, real culture from real outlets NOT begging or cowering for big ad bucks.
Could be. Check out the discussion above.
Rashida Jones Talks About Her Documentary ‘Hot Girls Wanted’ (Video)
Let it be known then: Rashida Jones has NO problem with porn. Aaaand thank you and good night! Ha! But of course, there’s more to the story than that revelation if VICE is on the case. See above the sit down with Jones regarding the documentary she recently produced on Miami’s amateur porn industry entitled “Hot Girls Wanted.” Lots of insights on the up and down side of the industry; and society at-large influencing and being influenced by it.
Anybody saying they are not interested by now… is lying! Stop playing and press play.
Matt Damon Stars In Out Of This World Survival Epic ‘The Martian’ (Video)
This is the beast mode role that Matt Damon was made to play. Crush Jason Bourne! “In your face, Neil Armstrong!”
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian†home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return. Based on a best-selling novel, and helmed by master director Ridley Scott, “The Martian” features a star studded cast that includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover.

Large Professor Names His Top 5 Producers Of All-Time (Video)
If anyone can speak to a top 5 all-time list for Hip-Hop producers, it’d have to be a stalwart like Large Professor. Google-research it for yourself sometime if you need convincing (you don’t; take our word)… Large Pro is WORTHY! So who makes the cut? DJ Mark The 45 King, Easy Mo Bee, Marley Marl, Rick Rubin, DJ Premier and Pete Rock.
Wait… isn’t that SIX? Haaa! C’mon, give him one. Enjoyable sit-down with ‘Sway In The Morning’ (above) that includes more good Hip-Hop convo (including talk about his “Re:Living” release).
Akon Talks To Al Jazeera About His Art, Philanthropy And Impact On The World (Video)
Senegalese-American recording artist Akon comes onto Talk To Al Jazeera about U.S. race relations, “rebranding” Africa, and his music. Some poignant moments with punch in this interview, but it all comes from the right place. Perspectives from an African living in the U.S., who has drawn a conclusion that native born Americans of African descent have reached time and time again: “America was never built for Black people.”
Watch.
