Jeffrey Wright Narates This Ad For A Product Named In Honor Of ‘The Greatest Whiskey Maker The World Never Knew’ (Video)

Okay, so there will be at least ONE commercial that is a must-watch on Super Bowl Sunday – this one for Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey. This new whiskey is named for the slave, Nathan Green aka Uncle Nearest, who taught Jack Daniel how to make whiskey (*record scratches*). Yeah. That’s right. That Jack Daniel.

What happens when everything we know about something changes?

This is “The Why,” our first national TV campaign to debut following Super Bowl LIII on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Post-Super Bowl Special. The people you see are Uncle Nearest team members and their passion and words are 100% unscripted.

This is what sets us apart.

Nipsey Hussle Speaks On His ‘Side Hustle’ (Video)

Nipsey is the hustle! All sides. But that’s what we are here for; learning about the ‘Side Hustle’ of Neighborhood Nip. And we’re here for everything the homie has to share/teach.

Considering his name, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Nipsey Hussle is always on the grind. Raised in the streets of Crenshaw, Los Angeles, the independent rapper has quickly built his own empire to last: In addition to his All Money In record label, Marathon Clothing line and retail store, Nipsey has invested in the business incubator, Vector.90, as a way to connect with next-gen geniuses. In the West Coast edition of Side Hustle, Hussle breaks down his money moves, a major business loss that turned into a lesson and why he’ll never stop betting on himself.

E-40 Speaks On His ‘Side Hustle’ (Video)

Nice, Tidal. Very nice. Sharing insights on a true rapper / ENTREPRENEUR (yes, all caps on purpose because ‘shouting’ for emphasis) like the Fawty Water.

E-40 has been a West Coast rap ambassador for over three decades but his empire extends beyond his witty slang and hyphy catalog. In this episode of Side Hustle, the Vallejo native details the profitable and sometimes painful lessons he learned while building his business portfolio of wine, cognac, a meats company and other investments.

Food/Business: Slutty Vegan Levels Up From A Food Truck To A Restaurant In Westview, Atlanta (Video)

This PINKY, nyuh!!

Well, it is her dream; still going and growing strong. Now she has a brick-and-mortar location to serve her patrons. Apparently, Slutty Vegan’s meatless fare with a flare is in high demand. In the South, where we kill and fry everything that won’t defend itself or run, that is quite an accomplishment!

So, I Googled up an Atlanta Eater article on the situation for the numbers: over 1200 served the first day at Westview AND the ‘Gram is on pace to reach 100K followers ASAP.

Impressive, Pinky. Impressive!

Oh, I learned of all this when I saw the homie BigDee noting on his FB timeline that he waited in line for upwards of two hours at the new restaurant to order. Hope it was worth it. Scratch that. Bet your pockets it WILL be worth it if Mr. McRib-Over-Every-Sandwich is willing to wait that long… unless Dee comes back over here and comments otherwise.

Rooting for you, Pinky!

Gary Vaynerchuk & Jim Jones Come To The Table With Some Boss Talk (Video)

I know when you start this video and see Capo talking to Gary it will seem like there is a disconnect. But hang in there. Separately, we’d listen to either of these guys, right? Trust that the energy will change for the better, for the real, quickly!

(Of course, Gary does most of the talking… with a few folks, including Jones, jumping in with questions and comments.)

If you asked me whether I’m more scared for kids growing up in the projects or trust fund babes?

I’d say trust fund babies. Hands down.

Kids growing up with struggle know how to grind and deal with adversity.

But when you’ve had everything handed to you your whole life, you get soft … and it’s harder to deal with things like economic meltdowns or the problems that come with entrepreneurship.

Wish more people understood that the biggest privilege you could have is mental privilege … people with money don’t always have it made!!

Speaking On Female Emcees’ Beef And Struggle In 2018: Nicki Minaj vs. Cardi B And Why There Is Only Room For One Female Emcee (Video)

Interesting. This panel discussion uses the Nicki v. Cardi beef as a jump-off point for discussing strife between women and the struggle for women to gain footing in the still male-dominated rap game.

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have made the news cycle this year over their rap beef. With an industry saturated with men, why are there so few successful women in Hip Hop who seem to get along? The panelists come together to discuss the climate of today’s Hip Hop industry for women vs men.

Eric Bischoff’s TEDxNaperville Talk On ‘The News Mimicking Pro Wrestling’ (Video)

Hang on through the beginning, speaker Eric Bischoff has some points to make. But like all good ‘sports entertainment’ there is a setup before the ‘real’ match gets started. And watch for the ‘swerve.’

Yes. The news is more like ‘rasslin than we thought. Let Eric explain.

Professional Wrestling and Political News Media have become the ultimate tag team, both utilizing the exact same techniques and formula’s for a very specific outcome. And the outcome is not what you think it is… In 1991, Turner Broadcasting’s World Championship Wrestling (WCW) recruited Eric as an on-camera talent. His entrepreneurial instincts and interests quickly propelled him from talent through the corporate ranks to become WCW’s President in 1998. Before leaving Turner Broadcasting in 1999, Eric had established WCW as the leader in the sports/entertainment category and is largely credited for re-inventing the professional wrestling genre. Eric also created the New World Order (nWo) brand for the TNT Network and was responsible for growing licensing, merchandising, pay-per-view, and live event business units by more than $325M. In 2002, he joining longtime competitor Vince McMahon to be an on-air character on the highly successful USA Network Series “RAW”.
