Interview
Consequence Says He Ghostwrote For Jay-Z? (Video)
Not Jay Hova. Nope. Maybe? If so, this is big! According to Bossip and others’ interpretations, Cons said on Power 106 that he and Kanye West actually came up with the verses for “Encore” off “The Black Album.” Is he saying that Jay wasn’t even involved in conceiving the rhyme? Is this a slip or shade? Most important to the Hip-Hop: Is it TRUE?
See the interview for yourself above. Lean in at about the 8-minute mark…
NPR’s “Noteworthy” Documentary Of Singer ‘Miguel’ (Documentary)
NPR’s music documentary series, “Noteworthy,” is up & running. Great treatment of its subjects. Kind of short, but you get good content on modern R&B-ster Miguel, the first subject.
Watch as host Jason King interviews Miguel at home. Discussion goes from the choice of wallpaper to working with Salaam Remi, to times and modes of inspiration to… Well, watch. It’s less than 15 minutes.
Nardwuar Interviews The Legendary James Brown (Video)
Nardwuar interviews might include a gift of some James Brown work to an interviewee, but not the James Brown, right? No way. Waaay dude. Way true! Before he left this level of vibration, Soul Brother No. 1 sat down with our favorite Serviette. An interview like NONE ever done by Nard before and a must watch!

Fashawn Joins Snoop Dogg On ‘GGN’ (Video)
When you are on GGN with Uncle Snoop, you ARE busy! You don’t take calls… UNLESS it’s your moms… AND she REALLY wants to talk to Snoop Dogg… and ‘put one in the air’ with The Doggfather. Hahaaaa! Well played Nephew Fashawn.
Most of you probably recognize Fashawn from XXL’s 2010 Freshman Cover, but now you have the chance to get to know him on an elevated level as he sits down with Snoop Dogg to talk about music, weed, sex, and more on the newest episode of GGN.
But YOOOOOOO! The Stormy Fronts from Frankfurt on here! She says it’s ‘HOT and WET’ in Germany! You may not know what she’s saying, but you feel her (or want to). And check out Fashawn’s “The Ecology” (still moving on that).

Brick City All Day!! It fam, it was fighting… and to Redman, it was and is home. Red speaks on that upbringing background in depth with Vlad. Having to go through it (the travails of hood life), Red talks about his early Jersey life (esp. selling drugs but not pulling time like his brothers, robbing), eventually leaving all the bullsh!t (Red’s words) and getting into the music full grind. Of course, he and EPMD got down and the rest is history.
Start above and keep watching with the video after the jump. Great content!

Classic Clips: LL Cool J (1986) [Video]
LL stands for Ladies Love (and much more)… and he gets across that he LOVES the LADIES immediately to the interviewer! Great clip; more than just ‘playalistic’ stuff, LL Cool J is speaking on rap styling and life in general. The discussion really touches on the underpinnings of what Hip-Hop was meant to be. Too short. Well worth watching though.
Interview with LL Cool J in his old neighbourhood for Dutch Television (by Marcel Vanthilt). Old School Hip-Hop – Broadcast of 1986 by VPRO.
See what our big time celebs’ “Cribs” were back in the day? Granny’s house. Where they actually grew up and/or lived. Don’t have to holler ‘keep it 100’ all the time is you stay 100% real from the get go. MESSAGE!
Classic Clips: Legendary Philly Rapper ‘Schooly D’ Performing @ The Latin Quarter in NYC 1986 (Video)
Schooly D says he does not want to be a teacher in the clip above, but listen to the OG because he is speaking truth into the future. Shot in 1986, the Philly legend is speaking on realities in Hip-Hop (independence being freedom, parallels and similar perils in Rock-n-Roll and Rap, etc.) and more that hold in 2016. Plus, it is just really dope to flash back to a time when our culture was still finding its way. ‘No biting allowed’ was the rule and cultural appropriation was non-existent because no outsiders knew enough to ‘steal’ anything from us. Hip-Hop was barely a decade old.
It’s a short clip. Enjoy it thoroughly!

More video, from Boseman at Comic-Con, after the jump.
NBA Standout Dwayne Wade Speaks On Leaving The Heat For The Windy City And Getting A Warm Reception And More (Video)
It’s only a six-minute clip but there is a lot in there (including precious seconds of screen time with gorgeous wifey Gabrielle Union). D Wade joining D Rose in Chicago certainly signals the Bulls desire to win rings, but other things ring true in this clip. Concerned about making the most of his remaining time (even referencing his long-gone youth, when he was ‘able to sit Indian style’ and dream about playing for the Bulls), getting the best contract and competitive situation for himself…all that and more…factored into Dwayne Wade’s decision to make that move from Miami. Watch him talk all about it above.
Dwayne Wade speaks with Cari Champion about his decision to sign with his hometown Chicago Bulls, his welcoming discussion with Jimmy Butler, and what message LeBron James and Chris Paul told him before signing.
(SportsCenter’s Cari Champion is definitely looking lovely in this interview, too. Bonus!)
73 Questions With Serena Williams (Video)
First of all, it’s sexy Serena on visual So it’s going all the way up! But let’s see what her answers are to the “73 Questions”… because she has put some classic on-camera moments down over the years, too.

The answer on how to celebrate wins though…BAWSE!!

Ken Paulson, of the First Amendment Center, welcomes Chuck D on this classic throwback episode of ‘Speaking Freely’ (aired on May 18, 2001). The discussion touches on various topics over the course of the half-hour: Mista Chuck’s upbringing’s influence on his career, a survey of his musical influences, the origins of his group Public Enemy, and why he does his music as he does.
We would promote gigs and put Malcolm X on the cover of flyers and some cat would roll up to us… “Who’s this Malcolm The Tenth?“
Great watching. Get to it.
General Steele Speaks On The History Of Legendary NY Street Gang ‘The Decepticons’ (Video)
Whenever you can get the real scoop from an OG, an Original Gangster for real, you should do that. That said, you should watch this interview featuring General Steele (of Tek & Steele, of Smif-N-Wessun a.k.a. The Cocoa Brovas).
If you lived through the late 80’s early 90’s in NYC you’ve heard of the ‘Decepticons’. Some might think I’m talking about the infamous villains led by Megatron from the cartoon ‘The Transformers’. The names of the actual people were the same, but nothing about these men walking around NYC was a cartoon. General Steele (a member of the crew Deceps aka The Decepticons) from the legendary group Smif-N-Wessun gives us a brief history on the street gang known as the ‘Decepticons.’

Release Of DNC Emails Proves Bias Against Bernie Sanders Campaign And Cost Party Chair Her Job (Video)
Bernie Sanders says the release of DNC emails underscore the position he’s held for months: party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz needs to go.
(UPDATE: And now she is. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been ‘quarantined’ and will resign her post.)
Damn, DNC. See why we #FeelTheBern now? Because we feel that y’all are full of that bullsh!t. To be certain, Debbie was just a cyst, the cancer is still within the Democratic Party. Damn and damn it!
To his credit, Senator Sanders is still being the grown up in the room of school gossips: He is still pledging still to back Hillary Clinton and help defeat Trump. Aligned with the party whose leadership tacitly backs those who would malign him.
Wow. Just. Wow. You KNOW the Conservative media and RNC will be all over this, as they should be. DAAAAMMMN!
