Eye Candy: Kristyn Alexis Models Bikinis (Video)
I could have stopped with the title! Have mercy on meeee, I am a sucker for a model rocking a hot ONE-PIECE! I know folks go with two-pieces and thongs and exotic stuff like that. But me, even though Kristyn Alexis talks them up as ‘cover-up’ suits, I actually prefer my thickness in some sexy onesie-ness. That Bae Watch one seemed to be KristynAlexis’ favorite. And Kristyn Alexis in it is definitely one of my favorites!

Event: Coalition DJs 9th Anniversary Celebration & Panel Discussion (Video)
Wow.
I would say, if you you were not at Atlanta’s Coalition DJs Anniversary Celebration and Longevity Panel event, you missed something special.
I would say that.
I might even go so far as to say that you took a major L this past Monday if you missed it. However, lucky for you, you know me. Even luckier for me, I am truly blessed to know, and be able to call in a favor from, Gerald Olivari of Black Vibes! Yep, G.O. went to the event and grabbed a lot of crucial footage: wisdom from the hearts and mouths of music industry insiders and grinders who have been at it for decades (some over 30 years). So, give thanks, because you are lucky not to have missed out out dopeness like this!
Start with Part 1 above, and absorb the knowledge that flowed with real (and raw, uncensored) conversation from the panelists assembled. On hand was DJ Toomp, KP, and more who have made hits (and money) with the likes of Dallas Austin, TI, Yelawolf, OutKast, Diddy… whew! And the gems they dropped, like:
Understand business… not just ‘the business’… first. This lesson even applies when you are cutting grass for a living: If you want to get paid, for real, DO THE WORK, for real!
If you want to excel as those you admire do, get around them and work like they do.
If you find yourself blessed with the opportunity to be around greatness, shut up and listen!
INFORMATION… that is a key to LONGEVITY.
Relationships go a LONG way!
Wise words well spoken…. applicable to music making AND to life in general! And that was just in the first half of the first part (above). You can keep going and growing with Part 2 after the jump. Got some Red Carpet pics for y’all, too. Shout out to Iman Lexington and public relations guru Amy Hanks (follow @AmyHanksPR) for putting us on to this opportunity as well. Just as you will learn from watching, real DJs and folks like Gerald (with his Black Vibes platform), I.Lex (with her connections and @ILexProject music & media consultancy), and my bro JayForce here just REALLY want artists they encounter to be good – for the culture and for themselves. So, watch this FREEbie intently; especially you artists and managers out there. Keep perfecting your craft and bettering your businesses.
This should help. Good luck!

‘Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo’ Documentary Covers His Rise From Prison To Hollywood
The video above is not the trailer for actor Danny Trejo’s upcoming documentary, but its interesting to provide you all an appetizer for the upcoming documentary ‘Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo’. There was another documentary on Danny Trejo called “Champion” that we posted the trailer to after the jump.
“The big screen tough guy is currently in production on Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo, a documentary that will chronicle his life and career — from his early days on the streets that led him to prison, to getting clean and working with directors like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez and appearing in films such as Heat, Con Air and Machete.
Today, Danny Trejo is temperate, benevolent and likely one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. But he wasn’t always this wayâ€, says producer Adam Scorgie in a statement. “Growing up in the mean streets of Pacoima, California, he was raised and mentored by his uncle, a drug addict and armed robber. By the age of 12, he had tried heroin. By age 15, he was introduced to his first jail cell. At 23, he was sentenced to San Quentin for selling a $30,000 bag of heroin to an undercover agent.”
Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo is expected to be released in 2018.
James Baldwin: ‘I Am Not Your Negro’ (Official Trailer)
“In his new film, director Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished – a radical narration about race in America, using the writer’s original words. He draws upon James Baldwin’s notes on the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. to explore and bring a fresh and radical perspective to the current racial narrative in America.”
“One of the best movies you are likely to see this year.”

NYFF: ’13th’ Documentary Film Panel Discussion (Video)
The day after Ava DuVernay’s new film, 13TH, opened the 54th New York Film Festival, subjects interviewed in the film came together for an extended conversation exploring the many issues explored in this powerful documentary about race and criminal justice.
From the portrayal of black men in popular culture, dating back to D. W. Griffith’s 1915 Birth of a Nation, to the progression from slavery to mass incarceration and the persistent demonization and killing of black men by police in our cities today, the discussion will consider how the past connects with our present reality. Participants will include Ashley Clark (BFI), Jelani Cobb (The New Yorker, The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress), Malkia Cyril (Center for Media Justice), Kevin Gannon (Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning), and Khalil Gibran Muhammad (Harvard Kennedy School; former Director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture). 13TH is a Netflix original documentary.

J. Keys – “New Year New Day” (Video)
Well we made it to 2017 and let me say Happy New Year on behalf of the entire Jayforcedotcom team. J. Keys would like to help you start off on the right foot in 2017 with his latest track New Year New Day. He reminds you to not just wait for the end of the year to start thinking about change but apply it with each day you are blessed with. The visuals definitely match the track showing him being active in many different locations. So while you are nodding your head to the groove pay attention to the message in the music as well!
This year I’m thinking bigger than the money. I’m trying to get something that you cant take from me. Trying to stay clear of the haters & the dummies. Got you eating salad trying to get rid of your tummy. Man you don’t got to wait to lose weight it don’t cost a thing to have faith.

Gifted Gab Performs “No Days Off” in Convenience Store for Swisher Sweets Artist Project (Video)
Three years ago I traveled to Seattle to cover the annual Bumbershoot Music festival. That trip turned out to be as much of a networking and new artist discovery as it was for festival coverage. I was introduced to a multitude of artists and Gifted Gab is one that I told people about after seeing her perform live. She has continued to work hard, releasing new music along with performing at shows up and down the west coast. She even rocked out here in Atlanta for A3C 2016. Well she has caught the eye of Swisher Sweets who have made her part of their convenience store sessions. Yes the title explains exactly what it is Gifted Gab performing live inside a convenience store unannounced, unrehearsed, with real customers. Gab definitely has the personality to pull this off. So check out this cool footage where the Seattle emcee controls the crowd while they are grabbing a six pack and some swishers!

Talib Kweli Insists That Seasoned Artists Can Learn From Lil Yachty & 21 Savage (Video)
Talib Kweli tells Vlad that Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Ugly God and the other young’uns in the rap game have something to teach the rap vets. No, helllll nooo; not about putting out good music. Rather, they know how to get a buzz that gets heat for an artist without paying playing the radio game. And that game has gotten even more expensive and more ‘in the shadows’ nowadays.
