My Dad was a sharecropper through late his preteen years before his family moved to Tuskegee. The farmer in him meant we would have a pretty big garden every year, overflowing with tomatoes. They were not heirloom tomatoes like these, but those ‘maters did taste different. Guess that is no surprise. Homegrown vs. storebought, you know… It’s just that this video gives a ‘fullness’ to the argument that I cosign. Check it out.

Hahaa! This reminded me of the ‘Black Acting School’ part of Robert Townsend’s “Hollywood Shuffle” (with White ‘instructors’ insisting that ‘students’ act ‘Blacker’… like ‘jive turkey mothaf**ckas’). Sharp commentary in that, too. Watch Franchesca’s commentary on long-standing Black Female stereotypes in media.
Ever notice how black women in media tend to looped into a few basic stereotypes? Like, get portrayed as the sassy friend who has an instant comeback for everything, or the over-sexualized woman who wants it all the time, or the helpful Black maid. Well, these stereotypes don’t come from nowhere. Usually ‘a disembodied voice’ that no one sees… Lord Jamar’s homie DJ Vlad finally makes it over to the Yanadameen Godcast in front of the camera. Certainly a welcome guest, but the visit wasn’t warm daps and hugs. Watch and see some real [solemn] talk about halfway through.
With Lord Jamar having become somewhat of a staple on VladTV, the face behind the voice has finally come around to the Yanadameen Godcast to be on the other side of the questions (0:59). In this episode, Vlad talks about the beginnings of VladTV (3:53) and Rah Digga asks how the infamous Vlad/Lord Jamar videos came to be in the first place (5:35). Hmm. Surprising that this is just starting to blow up as an industry over there. Sex and all things naughty-naughty sell and sell well. The level of regulation and societal taboo to counter it must have been tremendously stifling. Still likely is, but looks like things are loosening up (insert your own ‘dirty jokes’ here).
Sex toy stores are opening up all over South Korea and customers have been flocking to them. In the past, the few adult stores that existed were hidden behind tinted glass and filled with dirty or outdated toys. Now times are changing and sex is becoming more visible to the mainstream.
But more access to sex toys doesn’t negate South Korea’s many sexual taboos and the lack of sex education and industry regulation.
